It doesn’t matter which input you plug your Blu-ray player into. They should all work equally well.
I have a PS3. I plug it into my recevier’s (Onkyo TX-SR606) HDMI 2. I plug my HD cable box into HDMI 1. I send them both on to my TV via the HDMI out port.
All depends on what input you have your HDMI cable plugged into on your TV. Look where you plugged the cable in on your TV and you should see a label stated 1, 2, or 3. You can also turn on your BluRay player and cycle thru the inputs and see which one it is on. It won’t change next time.
Each person may have it setup in a different input so just because mine is on #2 doesn’t mean yours will be.
Just look to see what input the Blu-Ray player is on. I would suggest using an input in the back than on the side. I have had problems with HDMI cables falling out of my side input on my Samsung.
As far as players I have a Samsung BD UP 5000 so that it plays Blu-Rays and HD DVD’s. HD-DVDs are so cheap right now you can save a ton of money. You can buy new discs for less than $5, often cheaper than the DVD version. I also have a PS3 that I will use to play discs if I don’t want to lose my place on a disc in the other player.
once you figure it out on most TVs you can go into menu and rename the input TV for input one DVD for input 2 and so on
