I have a few different films that need to be developed. My photography decided to not use a darkroom so now i have a mix of films and some 1 hour photo booths say that they cannot develop my film. I was wonder why can they not? what films can they not?
i have the following films needing to be developed: 125PX, Ilford Oanf PLus 50, 100TMAX, 100 Acros, 400TX, and 400TMAX. All are black and white.

What Films Can Be Developed In 1 Hour Photo Stands?

One Hour labs traditionally ONLY use C-41 chemistry in the processing of color print films. As I’m sure you already know, the films you have listed are all B&W films and require an entirely different chemistry (to get the best results.) If you’re feeling lucky, you can always try to develop them yourself with some good old “D-76″ or “Microdol-X” (both from KODAK (a.k.a. the GREAT YELLOW FATHER.) To save yourself much time, anguish, and $$$, simply go to a photography store and have them send it off, or you could use Walgreens, Rite-Aid, etc. and let them send it off. It may take 3-4 days, but what-the-heck, at least it will be right when you get them back. Also, for a couple of extra bucks, I’m sure they would scan your negs for you and burn them to a CD for your future use.
BEST OF LUCK

I have a far more flexible 1 hour stand that can do all color print films in 35 and medium format as well as all black and white non C41 films. They can also do transparency films but that is an overnight job.
The amazing thing about it is that I pay the same price for all of them, $7.50 for developing, 4×6 prints, and high resolution CDs. In other words, I can’t afford going to Walmart or Target, they are too expensive.
They probably develop only color films, which are what most people use for snapshots if they still use film. Ask someone at a 1 hour booth if they develop color slides or only prints. If you don’t want to develop your own film, call a camera store or look in your local phone book for labs that process film for professional photographers.
Specifically, only C-41 35mm Film.
This includes the likes of XP2, Gold 200, Ektar 100, etc.
They cannot do Velvia 50 or Tri-X for example.
